NOC Operations Engineer

Core Responsibilities Incident Response The Operations Engineer will act as Tier II escalation in the room for NOC personnel.
Will respond to all Sev2, Sev3 incidents across all Skyline Managed WAN services.
Create a problem definition for all incidents, as well as create all necessary incident tickets.
Work with the Incident Manager to assist in all Major Incidents.
(Sev1) Incident Problem Diagnosis 2 The Operations Engineer will follow standard operating procedures to resolve common problems Will create new procedures to address newly defined problems.
Provide technical guidance to remote field technicians diagnosing problems.
Provide feedback about tools, processes, and procedures to better streamline problem diagnosis In the ticketing tool, the OE will accurately articulate and note the steps taken to diagnose the problem.
Effectively use network diagnosis tools and be able to interpret the results.
Node and Client Onboarding Onboard new devices into MNS tool sets.
Assist or act as ldquoOperations Transition Engineerrdquo for new clients being onboarded into the NOC.
Work with DevOps team on onboarding new clients.
Recommend new methods, tools, and approaches to onboarding devices.
Map all dependencies and create maps for client networks.
Reporting Remediation The Operations Engineer will, on a fixed interval, review and provide recommendations for clients to adjust capacity on network nodes andor network connections.
(Capacity Reporting) Work with the Incident Manager (IM) to provide reporting on problematic nodes andor circuits.
Analyze network device logs daily to determine potential problems.
Run daily network availability reports.
Through compliance reporting, OE will remediate all out of compliance devices in client networks were applicable.
Mentoring and On-The-Job Training Mentorlead new technicians as they are onboarded.
Provide recommendations to improve onboarding new technicians.
Engage in furthering their own knowledge through internet resources, books, and dialogue with Network Architects andor Subject Matter Experts.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Proficient in the following network protocols OSPF Spanning Tree, Rapid Spanning Tree, Multi-Instance Spanning Tree LACP 802.
1q HSRPVRRP IP Subnetting VLANS Knowledge of the following protocols Multicast PIM IGMP MSDP IPSEC MPLS EDUCATION ANDOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS BS preferred, not required.
ITIL Certification preferred, not required.
2-5 years working experience in IT operations support capacity.
CCNP andor JNCIP, or equivalent required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
