Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Cardiac Stress Technician - Full-time (Paramedic skillset) to join our team!Digirad, a publicly-held company with over 600 employees nationwide, is one of the largest national providers of mobile imaging solutions to physician practices, hospitals and imaging centers.
We provide our customers with certified personnel, required licensure, imaging systems, support, and supplies for the performance of nuclear and ultrasound imaging, neuropathy diagnostics, and various other procedures and services.
We also manufacture and sell medical diagnostic imaging systems including solid-state gamma cameras for nuclear cardiology and general nuclear medicine applications, as well as provide service and support on these products.
POSITION SUMMARYUnder the direct supervision of the site physician, performs various professional and administrative duties related to nuclear medicine stress testing including but not limited to:
patient preparation-including IV start and EKG lead placement interpretation, administration of exercise and pharmacological stress tests, and application of ACLS measures to patients when directed.
Activities not performed at the physician site are supervised by the Area Supervisors and Business Directors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
Preparation of patient for stress testing procedure, including patient interviews, obtaining medical history, obtaining patient consent and signatures, and conducting patient teaching related to nuclear imaging procedure including risks and complications.
Assess patient's blood pressure, pulse, respirations, lung sounds, and establish Peripheral Intravenous (IV) access.
Set up and monitor patient through 12 lead EKG stress testing including application of 12 lead EKG monitor pads and application leads.
EKG Rhythm identification and interpretation.
Preparation of pharmacological stress agents, dose calculation and administration.
Under the direct supervision of the site physician, application of ACLS algorithms if patients experience heart problems or cardiac arrest during procedure including administration of resuscitation pharmacological agents, oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airway placement and suctioning.
Driving company van and following Radiation Safety and Department of Transportation regulations for purpose of transporting equipment, medical supplies, radioactive material and staff to customer site.
Preparation and tear down of mobile operations at customer site including preparing and inventorying pharmaceutical and medical supplies brought to customer site, assisting in loading/unloading of equipment in/out of van, set up/tear down of DIS equipment in customer site, and disposal of DIS medical waste.
Completion of daily paperwork at customer site including obtaining physician signature(s), photocopying, and faxing.
Complying with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards.
Enhancing professional growth and development through participation in continuing education courses, educational programs, and maintaining of required licenses and certifications.
Assist the Area Supervisor and Business Director in handling the issues that arise at customer sites the CCT/CST staff is servicing; ensure CCT/CSTs are meeting and exceeding the needs of all physicians and their office staff.
Along with Area Supervisors and Business Directors, manage hub records and filing according to state and other regulatory agencies guidelines, including patient medical records, billing records and customer schedules.
Responsible for Fleet Management at assigned hub(s) by assisting the Corporate Fleet Manager and/or regional administrative staff in coordinating scheduled maintenance, repairs, annual registration renewals and the reporting any vehicle damage.
Responsible for maintaining non nuclear medical supplies and equipment, including but not limited to ordering non-radioactive pharmaceuticals, receiving such pharmaceuticals, ensuring their safe and compliant storage, completing monthly inventory reports, maintaining hub defibrillators, ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed and batteries checked, ensuring crash cart(s)/medical supply cart(s) are stocked, inventoried, and non radioactive pharmaceutical expiration dates are monitored including the disposal of expired non radioactive pharmaceuticals, and responding to any drug recalls as per established procedures.
In cooperation with the Area Supervisor and Business Director participates in the training and mentoring of new CCT/CST employees.
Any other duties assigned by supervisor.
Experience and SkillsPrefer 1 years experience in an emergency care setting with experience responding to emergent cardiac and pulmonary events (i.
e.
, critical care setting, emergency room setting, and emergency medical services setting).
Required to start IV's, place EKG leads and interpret EKG rhythms.
Daily pushing/pulling of medical equipment 800 lbs+.
Demonstrate current competency and skills by documentation of a Certification, Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field, continuing licensure and education credits in knowledge and skills related to emergency care or paramedicine.
Will have current certification demonstrating successful completion of an American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses.

application of BLS measures in case of emergency if physician is not on the premises, and application of ACLS algorithms in such cases if physician is providing direct supervision.

Able to work independently, and work under pressure.
Physical ActivitiesOn a routine basis-Must be able to stand for long periods of time; including- walking, stooping, turning and lifting up to 50lbs.
Required to push/pull 800lbs
of medical equipment in and out of a van, in and out of multiple medical facilities, tight quarters and elevators.
Intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
