The Program Director is responsible for the growth and development of our Meaningful Day Services program, which includes individual and group employment, community based day supports, and retirement.
Additionally, this position will take the initiative to market services to identified referral sources to secure new supporters, increase business contacts, employ individuals, and inform the community of the program.
This position requires an experienced, independent professional and developed leader working well in a team environment.
A history of successful supervisory experience and strong leadership skills are required.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university is required Must be at least 21 years old At least two years of experience working in the human services field with experience providing direct care services At least two years of supervisory experience is required Must have a current driver's license fewer than 5 points Must display a genuine interest in the well-being of adults with developmental disabilities Must demonstrate the ability to resolve problems and conflict effectively Must be able to deal with confidential information appropriately Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor, peers, individuals, and families Must be able to teach skills, provide support, and build on each individual's strengths and capabilities Responsibilities Works with employers/businesses to remove employment barriers and resolve issues related to community integration and independence for people with disabilities Assists with career counseling, evaluation, skills training/assessment, job readiness training, and other activities related to employment transition and successful job placement Monitors each person's level of performance including determining when supports should be modified Develops and maintains community business relationships for finding people gainful employment and advancement that provides a meaningful experience Serves as a liaison between each person and their employer and facilitates appropriate worker to supervisor relationships Provides outstanding support and services for people with developmental disabilities, enabling them to participate as fully as they wish in all aspects of community life Reports medical concerns, conditions, and changes in health status in a timely manner Ensures a safe environment where individuals are free from abuse and neglect Provides clear and concise documentation and follow-up on all employee concerns and disciplinary actions Manages caseload schedule to ensure proper coverage at all times Fills vacancies on caseload as needed, including acting in the needed role, and participates in weekend on-call rotation Manages house hours, budget, and overtime while ensuring optimal care and support for the people on the supported caseload Company Description Bello Machre - We provide a lifetime commitment of loving care, opportunity, and guidance to people with developmental disabilities in Maryland.
